GALICIA'S REGULATION COUNCIL OF ORGANIC FARMING

The ecological or biological (organic) farming production is a food production differentiated method which must be regulated by guaranteeing clearness in all its phases, both in its production or in its commercial phases.

The Council's CEE 2092/1991 ruling of June 24th on ecological farming production and its indication on food and agricultural products establishes some rules on the presentation, labelling, production, control and importation from third countries of products coming from farming and organic stockbreeding. It was modified and complemented by the following (CEE) rules: 2083/1992, from July 14; 2608/1993, from September 23; 2381/1994, from September 30; 1935/1995, from June 22, and other related regulations

(May 7th,1997 decree from the Agricultural Livestock and Woodland Council whereby the ecological farming production and its indication in Galicia is regulated, thus creating Galicia's Regulation Council of Organic Farming.)
